What do Breakups and Broken Toes Have in Common?



When we go through something emotional, we usually never give ourselves the same amount of leeway that we would if it was something physical.


Let's pretend for a second that you have a broken toe...


Would you beat yourself up for not going to the gym tomorrow?


Probably not.


But when we go through a breakup, we are so hard on ourselves if we aren't carrying on as normal.


Think of your breakup as a physical injury. With physical injuries we need to tend to them and then we have to leave them alone to let them heal.


So if you're going through a breakup, don't feel bad if you aren't eating or sleeping. Give yourself the time and grace to grieve your past relationship and let your heart heal.
